El Porrón

This Spanish tapas restaurant is located near Nørreport station in a small basement.
The food is authentic and really good, and the prices are okay. We payed Dkr. 299,- each for a 14 course tapas special. If you use the deals available in Copenhagen - all2day.dk being one of them, you can sometimes find delas for this place, which means you get 50% off on the tapas menu we had ;-)

Es Bungalow

This place is amazing - nothing less! It is located in Es Coll den Rabassa on the Ciudad Jardin beach. It is old - from 1920, and the owner is third generation. She is really sweet by the way. The restaurant sits on the very edge of the water, and if you ask for a table outside, you will have the most amazing wiev while you dine.

Es Bungalow specializes in Paella, and boy are they good at that! All paellas must be ordered by minimum 2 people, and my co-diner and I opted for the seafood version. Best paella I ever had - in the most beautiful place, I've ever dined in. So go! - Eat paella - and Enjoy!

Café Kys

I love Café Kys (kys means kiss in Danish). It is located in the heart of the city, and the food is both affordable and great tasting. The other day I had a Chevre Salad - goats cheese on a delicious salad on Danish "rugbrød" - Rye bread smothered in mango chutney. It was perfect - and cheap too. Only Dkr. 89,-

Høegs

Høegs (Hoegs) is a café located in Vesterbro, Copenhagen. It has been a favorite place of mine for years, and they just don't disappoint at Høegs - ever!

The salad in the picture is a Chevre Chaud. It is goats cheese on a toasted piece of bread with a really yummy salad with a mild vinaigrette underneath.

Price: Only Dkr. 99,-

Retour Steak

You think you know about steaks, but you have no idea... Not until you have a steak at Retour Steak in Copenhagen.

I had the Rib Eye 350 gram steak with frites (fries), bernaise and a side of Tomato & Basil. I asked for a medium rare steak - and that was exactly what I got! The Steak Frites was Dkr 245,- and the Tomato & Basil side order was Dkr 30,- Not a cheap place but definitely affordable!

The side order of Tomato & Basil had shavings of Parmesan cheese and a light and fresh vinaigrette, which made it the perfect companion for the steak.

Tomato & Basil
You might not be able to see it here, but the steak really was medium rare. Unfortunately not many restaurants get the fact, that when I ask for medium rare - it's because I want medium rare. At Retour Steak they get it - yeah!

If you like bernaise sauce, you're going to looove the bernaise at Retour Steak! It is smooth, thick and has the perfect mix between acidity and creaminess. Bernaise doesn't get any better than this.
